a hermetic instrument

Tonos

tune your frequency.

seven hermetic principles, each a one-minute narrated revelation. free on iOS.

hermeticism

the seven principles, in order.

tonos is built on the classical hermetic tradition, distilled in the kybalion (1908). not mysticism for its own sake. a map of how things hold together, and how you hold yourself inside them.

  1. one

    mind

    the all is mind.

every form is first a thought; attention is the craft.

  2. two

    correspondence

    as above, so below.

patterns mirror across scale; the small reveals the large.

  3. three

    vibration

    nothing rests.

everything moves; the only question is at what rate.

  4. four

    polarity

    every string has two ends.

opposites share a frame; you can walk between them.

  5. five

    rhythm

    everything flows.

tides rise and recede; the return is always coming.

  6. six

    causation

    every cause returns.

no accident — only threads you have not yet seen.

  7. seven

    generation

    transmit and receive.

two poles, one current; creation lives in the exchange.

what it is

an instrument, sized for a minute.

one teaching

a voice speaks. a bed of music settles beneath it at the frequency of the principle. an image moves, slow. a pulse finds your palm. a minute later, one idea has arrived. not argued. delivered.

the symphony

ten minutes. the seven in sequence. one arc that begins in the mind and ends in the hand. a heptagon lights as the last note lands. you do not finish where you began.

hand-made

nothing here is templated. every voice, every musical bed, every image, every pulse on the skin was written for the teaching it belongs to. the craft is audible. it’s meant to be.

the codex

behind every teaching is an essay. long-form, slow-paced, in full sentences. for the moments when a minute opens something and you want to keep walking.

the footing

rooted in peer-reviewed work.

the musical bed for each principle sits on a frequency with a documented footprint in sound-and-body research. the app ships with the measurements — a citation library drawn from Nature, PNAS, Frontiers, and HeartMath — so every claim traces back to a paper.

questions

before you tap.

What is Tonos?

Tonos is an iOS app that teaches the seven Hermetic principles through produced one-minute narrated revelations. Each teaching pairs a voice, frequency-tuned music, a scene visual, and a haptic cadence — all composed for the principle.

What are the seven Hermetic principles?

Mind, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Causation, and Generation — the seven axioms distilled in The Kybalion (1908). Tonos treats them as a sequence of seven teachings, each tuned for a minute.

Is Tonos free?

Yes. Tonos is free on the App Store, in 175 regions, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.

Does Tonos need an internet connection?

No. All audio, haptics, and visuals are bundled with the app. Nothing streams, and the app makes no network requests at runtime.

Does Tonos collect my data?

No. Tonos has no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no third-party SDKs. Session records stay on your device. The privacy policy is at tonos.energy/privacy.

What is The Symphony?

The Symphony is a ten-minute walk through all seven principles in order — one continuous arc that begins in the mind and ends in the hand.

How is Tonos different from a meditation app?

Tonos is not a breathing timer or a relaxation tool. It is a Hermetic instrument: one produced minute per principle, scored for the principle, delivered as a revelation rather than an open-ended session.

What is The Codex?

The Codex is a library of long-form essays inside the app — one essay per principle — for when a minute opens something and you want to keep walking.

Is Tonos available on Android?

Not yet. Tonos is iOS-only (iOS 18 or later). An Android version is not currently scheduled.

Who made Tonos?

Tonos is an independent project, hand-made in Cape Town. The voice, music, visuals, and haptics were all composed for the teachings they belong to.
